You do realize that whether the treatment under discussion fits that definition of emergency is still a matter of opinion. -Owen I know that gray area procedures must exist.  It would be for the law to determine what an emergency is.  If the hospital needed to shut down, it would need to shut down.  We already constrain the behavior of religion don't we?  Courts can override the denial of medical treatment to children by their Christian Science parents.  You can't engage in certain activities in the name of religion......  Obviously there are thresholds, differences of opinion.  These are matters for our legal system to sort out. Something it hasn't really done well since Roe vs. Wade. -Owen
